Eco House Hawthorn Road, Lincoln | New Build

Following unsuccessful planning applications from other designers, KSA were approached by the client to help them realise their ambition for a genuinely sustainable new family home in this desirable suburban location. Planners were keen to retain the character of the local streetscape, so we endeavoured to create a 4 bedroom dormer design within the visual envelope of the bungalow which had formerly been on the site, to be able to comfortably accommodate the clients’ mother as well as visiting children and grandchildren.
In addition to the solar panels, a heat recovery system and water harvesting, the build has an under floor heating system powered by Air Source heat pumps, negating the need for a gas service at the property. Designed to exceed all current building regulation requirements, it’s hoped that this house will continue to tread lightly on the Earth for the foreseeable future.
